client: Principe Real Project | EastBank
INTRO
The Príncipe Real Project is part of an initiative under the Príncipe Real Project, led by EastBanc. This initiative involved the acquisition of several buildings in the emblematic area of Lisbon, with the aim of rehabilitating them, combining modern design and functionality with the preservation of the architectural, cultural and landscape heritage.
One of the buildings acquired was the 19th century Palacete Ribeiro da Cunha, which has a Neo-Arabic style. This 19th-century building, facing Príncipe Real Square, and its architecture played a central role in the whole project and served as inspiration for its identity.
Lauched in September 2013 and restored by architect Eduardo Souto Moura, the building was transformed into EMBAIXADA, a space that combines a shopping centre with Portuguese brands and designers, as well as a restaurant.
MOTE
To develop an identity that captured the “essence” of the concept/project.
CHALLENGE
With a deadline of just 24 hours, I requested the building’s architectural elevations and isolated myself in a room to create the identity for this project.
