INTRO
My first reflection focused on the name. I wanted something fun, cheerful. A name that could relieve the tension normally associated with veterinary clinics, places often associated with a gloomy, uncomfortable and suffering environment. I wanted a name that would demystify this idea of a dull, poorly ventilated, smelly place where “our pets” will suffer.
MOTE
(The word “cool” kept coming back to me!!) persisted in my thoughts. The idea immediately took me back to “cartoons”. The “eyes” of a cartoon! It led me to a cheerful, fun, clean and, of course, PROFESSIONAL place.
Embracing the idea of a Veterinary Clinic as a “cool”, good-natured, friendly, affable place. This was the idea that I subsequently passed on to the owner, Dr Francisca. She gave me the green light for the whole process. Dr Francisca is a horse lover and that’s why she decided to divide her working areas into two segments.
The services would be provided in different locations: horse care would always be at home. Pet care, at her clinic.
CHALLENGE
The “duplicity” of this logo was the big challenge. The design had to have two distinct strands: horses and small animals / pets. After the naming, all the branding went from the basic stationary to the creation of a particularly interesting “client file” and the creation of a few pieces of signage, both outdoors and indoors. They were all created without ever forgetting the playful part of the concept: the “cool” aspect prevailing.
