Artistic Instalation: My bulls Eye

INTRO

I’ve always been fascinated by the shape and function of this piece: the “Bull’s-eye coverage”. Basically, it is used to cover water taps in the service stairwells of buildings. The visual effect it creates on the walls is curious!

This piece was first conceived in 2011, but it wasn’t until 2021 that it was properly assembled and installed. It was then that I found “the wall” where I felt comfortable installing it. In my new home, Casa Atelier, on the dining room wall!

The piece has undergone some changes, with new imputations by the artist, Vadin Cesar. This new collaboration has enriched it, giving it a new chromatic study and a new function that didn’t exist in the initial project: A scenic lamp.

This installation used 141 Bull’s-eye coverages, 1 ceramic bushing, 1 light bulb and a fabric power cord. Due to its lightness and ease of attachment, this piece allows for versatile dynamics. The painting of some of the pieces in different colors invites interaction with the people who observe it or pass by…

THE RESULT:

a piece in constant MUTATION!
